Author Guidelines

STANDARDS FOR PUBLICATION

1.BRAZILIAN JOURNAL OF APPLIED TECHNOLOGY FOR AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES -It’s a Scientifi c Journal of the Department of Agronomy and linked to the Center of Aviation and Agricultural Technology of Paraná- Nata / PR, the State University of West Center - UNICENTRO. Publishes scientifi c articles, reviews and bibliographical notes referring to the area of Applied Technology in the area of Agricultural Sciences, which should be aimed exclusively. Note: The e journal reserves the right to announce divulgation material from sponsors.
 
 
 

2. The e scientifi c articles and bibliographic reviews should be sent: a) in digital media to the electronic address PAeT@unicentro. br, and b) via mail, with the printed file and a digital copy (CD-ROM). Published in Portuguese, Spanish or English and paginated. The work should be typed on A4 size sheet of paper with 210 x 297 mm, with double-spaced lines, Times New Roman font, size 12 and footnotes size 8, margins: top 2.5 cm, below 2.5 cm, left 3.0 cm and right 3.0 cm. The maximum numbers of pages will be 18 for scientifi c articles, 22 for bibliographic reviews and 8 for notes, including tables, graphs and illustrations. Leave a blank line between the end of the text and the beginning of new topics in the text or after pictures, tables and others. Recede 1.25 cm at the beginning of the paragraph.

3. The article should contain the following topics: Title (Portuguese); Abstract (maximum 20 lines); Keywords; Abstract with title in English followed by the abbreviated name of the author; Key words; Introduction with Literature Review; Material and methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgements; Sources and Manufactures when necessary, and References. Before the references, should be also described, if relevant, that the work was approved by the Commission of Ethics and Biosafety of the institution and that the studies in animals have been conducted in accordance with ethical standards.

4. The bibliographic reviews should include the following topics: Title (Portuguese); Abstract; Keywords; Abstract with title in English followed by the abbreviated name of the author; Key words; Introduction; Development; Conclusion; References.

5. The note should contain the following topics: Title (Portuguese); Abstract; Keywords; Abstract with title in English followed by the abbreviated name of the author; Key words; the text should be edited without subdivision, but with introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion, the text may contain tables or fi gures; Sources of purchase if there is, and references.

6. The names of the authors should be written below the title, side to side, size 11, followed by numbers that will be repeated at the bottom of the fi rst page to the specifi cation (function, department, institution, city, state and country ) and author indication for correspondence (with full address, zip code and email is mandatory).

7. The authors’ quotation in the text should be made with capital letters followed by years of the publication, as examples:
These results are consistent with those described by KEPLER and STROUNG (1988) and SILVEIRA et al. (1996), as suitable for the climate (SHAW, 1978).

8. The articles will be available on the eletronical adress of the scientific journal.

9. The References should be made as the following examples, and in specifi c cases not covered, should choose ABNT rules (NBR 6023/2000):

9.8. Verbal Information:
It is identified in the text after the information, through the expression between brackets. Example: ... according to Silva (1997 - verbal information). In the end of the text, before the References, one should cite the complete adress of the author (including e-mail), and/or place, event, date and type of presentation in which the information was issued.

10. Drawings, graphics, maps and photographs will be denominated fi gures and will have the serial number in Arabic numerals. Tables and fi gures (drawings, graphics and photographs, among others) should be inserted directly in the text in the correct sequence, and sent separately. The drawings and graphics must have good resolution (minimum 300 dpi) with a width of 6 to 7 cm or 14 to 15 cm in the jpg format. To ensure the facility in publishing the article, the fi gures should be sent in digital fi le individually besides being included in the text. The tables must contain the word table followed by point and then the serial number in Arabic numeral (eg Table 2.) and must not exceed one side of a sheet of paper. In the body of the table can be used letters ranging in size from 9 to 11, according to the necessity.

10.1. The magazine will be edited containing the complete article in Portuguese and English. The author may send the article written in Portuguese or Spanish, however, should be sent the pictures (as item 10.) with titles, subtitle or internal texts already published in English, plus an edited version in Portuguese or Spanish, depending on the case. In short, the author must send the pictures in two separated fi les containing the versions a) in Portuguese or Spanish and b) in English.

11. Map, aerial photography, satellite image must be presented as follows, as appropriate:

12. The concepts and statements contained in the articles will be the entire responsibility of the author (s).

13. The referral letter of the articles should contain, necessarily, the signature of all authors or term of engagement of the main author, responsible for the inclusion of the co-authors. Note: Even in the case of sending the fi le via e-mail the signed document should be sent via mail. The model may be obtained from the electronic address of the Journal (http://web04.unicentro.br/revistas/indes.php/repaa).

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
