Restrições do uso da terra na zona de amortecimento do Parque Nacional do Iguaçu - Paraná Restrictions on use of the land in the buffer zone of Iguaçu National Park – Paraná

Resumo

As Unidades de Conservação (UC) são espaços territoriais especialmente protegidos para a conservação de recursos naturais. O estado do Paraná abriga diversas UC federais, estaduais e municipais, dentre elas o Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, reserva de Proteção Integral. O presente trabalho teve como foco as propriedades agrícolas (42) entre 2010 e 2011 localizadas no entorno do Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, no município de São Miguel do Iguaçu, Paraná. O objetivo foi verificar as formas de uso do solo agricultável, nessas propriedades, frente à legislação ambiental e o Plano de Manejo do Parque. O principal aspecto analisado foi referente à exigência da distância mínima para o cultivo de transgênicos na zona de amortecimento. Foram entrevistados 42 agricultores para avaliar a situação e a organização das propriedades, entre os anos 2010 e 2011. Dentre os resultados obtidos, verificou-se o cumprimento da legislação ambiental, porém, os agricultores estão insatisfeitos devido às restrições quanto ao uso da terra, pois afirmam que tais medidas ambientais acarretam prejuízos econômicos.

Abstract

The Conservation Units (UC’s) are protected territorial areas specially for the conservation and maintenance of natural resources. The Paraná state shelter several UC governments federal, state and municipal, among them the Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, an Integral Protection Unit. This study was carried out in forty-two agricultural properties, between the years of 2010 and 2011, located around the Iguacu National Park, in São Miguel do Iguacu, Paraná, Brazil. The goal was to determine the agricultural land use in these properties and if the conditions of land use are in accordance with the environmental legislation and the management plan of the Parque Nacional do Iguaçu, especially with regard to the requirement of the minimum distance for the cultivation of genetic modified crops in the buffer zone. Forty- two farmers were interviewed to assess the situation and organization ofthe properties. Among the results, there has been compliance with environmental legislation; however, farmers are unpleased due to the restrictions of land use and the economic losses with environmental restrictions.
