Que lugar para o inconsciente? Apontamentos biranianos

Luís António Umbelino

Resumo

N. Depraz, in a recent paper, suggests that perhaps the difficulty of the problem of the unconscious is linked to too strict and aporetic conceptions of “consciousness” and “unconsciousness”. The author argues that we should “situate” the problem of the unconscious in another way and try to explain how we become aware of unconscious bodily processes. This interesting possibility of analysis makes us think, due to some similar aspects, in the way Maine de Biran (1766-1824), at the beginning of the 19th century faces the same problem of the “phenomenal difference in the mode of givenness of subjective lived experiences and physical data”.
