ÁREAS VERDES PÚBLICAS URBANAS: CONCEITOS, USOS E FUNÇÕES

Resumo

O presente trabalho consiste em uma reflexão sobre os espaços públicos vegetados na organização dos aglomerados urbanos. Serão abordados aspectos históricos dos espaços livres de construção já nas primeiras cidades, como conseqüência das necessidades experimentadas a cada momento na relação cidade e natureza. Utiliza-se como fundamentação teórica os aspectos conceituais que definem e caracterizam as principais funções das áreas verdes urbanas. As diferentes concepções construídas ao longo dos períodos históricos remontam um perfil desses espaços, representados hoje pelos parques, praças, jardins públicos e arborização de acompanhamento viário. Torna-se necessário fazer um resgate das áreas verdes públicas e suas funções indispensáveis na estruturação da cidade moderna.

ABSTRACT

This paper consists of a reflection on the green public areas for the organization of urban agglomeration of constructions. It will be approached the historical aspects of the non-constructed areas in the cities as a consequence of the necessities experienced at every moment in the relation city and nature. It is used as theoretical framework the conceptual aspects that define and characterize the main functions of the urban green areas. The different conceptions built along historical periods retrace a profile of those spaces, which are represented, at present, by parks, squares, public gardens and the tree planting along the roads. It becomes necessary to renovate public Green areas and their indispensable functions in the organization of the modern city.
