Impacto da Síndrome de Burnout nos Acadêmicos de Contabilidade <p> Impact of Burnout Syndrome on Accounting Academics

Abstract

Este estudo tem como objetivo investigar como a síndrome de burnout afeta os acadêmicos de Ciências Contábeis em uma instituição pública de ensino superior. A pesquisa adotou uma abordagem quantitativa e descritiva, com dados coletados por meio de um questionário aplicado a 176 estudantes da Universidade Federal da Paraíba. O questionário investigou o grau de identificação dos estudantes com as subdimensões da síndrome de burnout — exaustão emocional, cinismo e realização pessoal — e suas práticas individuais e organizacionais para prevenir o estresse. Os resultados indicaram que mais da metade dos alunos se identifica com afirmações relacionadas à exaustão emocional, associando-a mais à educação do que ao trabalho. Em relação ao cinismo, pouco menos da metade dos respondentes apresentou identificação, com variações sutis conforme o perfil sociodemográfico. A dimensão de realização pessoal revelou que, embora os estudantes encontrem satisfação nas atividades acadêmicas e profissionais, muitos enfrentam desafios de autoconfiança e autoeficácia. Quanto às práticas de prevenção, os discentes consideram o descanso e o lazer essenciais para a saúde mental, mas expressaram insatisfação com a falta de políticas institucionais voltadas ao bem- estar. O estudo reforça a importância do desenvolvimento de novas pesquisas sobre o tema, bem como a necessidade de esforços por parte das organizações no desenvolvimento de políticas e práticas que promovam a manutenção da saúde mental de seus integrantes.
