INTEGRATION AS A CHALLENGE OF THE PRESENT

Abstract

The Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-americana (UNILA) is a border university that began its activities in 2010 with a commitment to fostering regional integration through knowledge and solidarity-based cooperation. In this way, it circulates important ideas related to Latin American integrationism, such as those of the Uruguayan intellectual Ángel Rama, focused on the cultures and literature of the region. This study presents data on the presence of Rama's theory at UNILA and specifically analyzes the institutionalization of certain theoretical aspects linked to the Uruguayan critic's thought in the Literature course and the Master's program in Comparative Literature at this institution. Based on this, it considers that a certain "pedagogy of integration," derived from Ángel Rama's theoretical framework, is institutionalized at this university.
